About Hotell Fjällheim and who we are today 
In February 2026, a new chapter in Fjällheim’s story began when the we, Nielsen family, took over the big red house in the heart of Idre. We fell in love with its history and the opportunity to create the kind of place we enjoy coming to ourselves. For us, Fjällheim should be a place to unwind after a day of adventure and recharge for the next. A place to enjoy a good breakfast, return to after a day in the mountains, relax in the sauna or settle down by the fire with something good to eat and drink. Above all, we want to create a space where people can slow down and simply enjoy being here. We want Fjällheim to feel personal and welcoming, with a real sense of home. Nothing overly polished or pretentious, just a warm, relaxed place that’s easy to feel at home in. A place where we get to know our guests and where both visitors and locals feel welcome.
